Angela holds a PhD in Mind, Gender and Language: Language, Linguistics and ESP from the University of Napoli Federico II (Italy). She is currently a Research Fellow in Applied Linguistics at the University of Nottingham (UK) and a Research Associate in Applied Linguistics at Lancaster University (UK). In September 2019 she will be taking on the role of Teaching Associate at Aston University in Birmingham (UK). Until June 2018 she worked as an Adjunct Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Napoli Federico II (Italy).
In her current position as a Research Fellow at Nottingham she is exploring narratives written by transgender patients seeking assessment in a Gender Identity Clinic in the UK. With an interdisciplinary team at Lancaster University, Angela is investigating the linguistics framing of nitrogen pollution in the press and the most used communicative strategies used by the scientific academic community when engaging with a lay audience.
