I completed my Master in Linguistics at University of Siena with a thesis on the representation of refugees and asylum seekers in British broadsheet press, under the supervision of Prof. Alison Duguid. I worked as research assistant at University of Sussex with Prof. Charlotte Taylor, on a project on the identification of metaphors using corpora. Currently, I am PhD candidate in Linguistics at the Linguistic, Philological and Literary Sciences Doctoral Programme at the University of Padova, in collaboration with the School of English at University of Sussex.
My research project is situated within the field of discourse analysis, and consists in a diachronic, cross-linguistic, corpus-assisted analysis of metaphorical representations of migration and migrants in American and Italian newspapers throughout the 21st century. This work is conducted under the supervision of Prof. Maria Teresa Musacchio (University of Padova) and Charlotte Taylor (University of Sussex).
